A meeting with Governor Sununu and hope for NH’s immigrants

Today the NH Council of Churches, Granite State Organizing Project and others met with Governor Sununu for a conversation about hope for New Hampshire’s immigrant residents. We had a constructive conversation that opened and closed with prayer and told the stories of families who have been affected by having a family member detained by ICE.

The Governor was eager to work with us as we asked for him to continue making statements to the President to support all immigrants, as he did for the Indonesian community recently.

We also asked him to attend worship services at Maranatha Indonesian Church and the multi-ethnic parish of St. Anne-St. Augustin Church.

So far his support has given our immigrant communities hope and we look forward to a positive relationship coming form today’s meeting.
