Dec. 19: Prayer Vigil for Immigrant Justice

Today was cold but many, many vigilers participated. There were about 30 Indonesian folks making their ICE check-ins and a number of folks from Sudan and other nations. We sang re-crafted Advent hymns such as O Come, O Come Emmanuel and the Song of Mary (video below). Afterward, we spent two hours at Blessed Sacrament Church on Elm Street to talk about an Immigration 101 class, a Spirituality of Solidarity class and to get updates on specific families and congregational needs.

The ice and snow came, but they persisted.
