Today I took the invitation to attend the Good Uplifting Times Bible Study in Concord. Every Thursday, people gather at 10:30am at United Baptist Church on Fayette Street. Pastor David Pinckney presides over a group Bible study, prayer time and donated lunch.

Pastor David serves River of Grace Church, which worships at the Christa McAuliffe School.

The Bible study began about 5 years ago by starting in Genesis and looking at every Bible verse that has the word “good” in it. This time, they focused on Luke 7:22:

And he answered them, “Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good news preached to them.

Then they ask the question, “How have you seen God’s goodness this week?”

The method is simple but rich and it shows a ministry that reaches many local Concord folks.
