Voices of Faith Stand for Public Education — sponsored by: New Hampshire Council of Churches, Kent Street Coalition, NH Faith and Labor Table, and Granite State Progress
Thank you for considering joining us ON THURSDAY MAY 12 for our visibility at the State Board of Education meeting. Public education is a sacred responsibility. Voices of faith are essential in this advocacy.
A HUGE thank you to Rev. Dave Grishaw-Jones, and the good folks at Community Church of Durham (CCD) for their hospitality. Please read carefully below.
We will meet at Community Church in Durham between 7:30-8 AM, and depart for Oyster River Middle School at 8 AM. It is a .5 mile walk. Please bring comfortable shoes!
CCD is located at 17 Main Street in Durham, NH.
**We encourage carpooling wherever that is possible and Covid safe to do.**CCD will have 20-25 parking spaces available for us, and there is additional parking for free just down from the church on Mill Pond Road off of Main Street. VERY limited parking is available at ORMS for those with accessibility needs.
Clergy, please be visible! Wear your collar, a stole, or other apparel. All are invited to wear “red for ed” the traditional color in support of public education. …Those who are able are invited to stay and be visible at the meeting (which begins at 9 AM). It’s essential the Commissioner sees that he does not speak for the faith community, and that we stand with our teachers and students. Note: there will be NO in person public comment at this meeting, but we encourage you to submit written public comment to Angela Adams at: angela.adams@doe.nh.gov.
Bathrooms, light snacks, and water will be accessible before and after the event. There are three accessible bathrooms on the ground floor of the Community Church of Durham.
