NH UCC Conference highlights

On Saturday, the NH Council of Churches had an exhibition table at the Annual Conference of the NH Conference of the United Church of Christ. Hundreds were in attendance for worship, music, preaching and the business of ministry. We re-introduced the Council of Churches to lots of people, promoted our event with Shane Claiborne and made lots of networking connections.

A few highlights from the day:

  • Meeting Rev. Dr. Charles Buck, the new interim Conference Minister for the NH Conference.
  • Bishop Dwayne Roister preached the Word: “Are we willing to be the outcast church so that the will of God may be done?”
  • Partnership with the Opioid Crisis Mission Group to connect churches with an urgent local need.
  • The Annual Conference passed a resolution asking congregations to support “our immigrant, refugee and asylum-seeking neighbors” through witness, prayer, advocacy, and physical sanctuary support. Read the full resolution here.

The Council of Churches has saved the date of February 24 for the NHCUCC’s Prepared to Serve event. Hopefully we will see you there and maybe even lead a class!
