This CCAR Recovery Coach Academy is a 4-day intensive training focused on providing skills needed to guide, mentor and support people seeking or sustaining recovery from an addiction to alcohol or other drugs. Participants will learn to: describe the roles and functions of a Recovery Coach; list the components, core values, and guiding principles of recovery coaching; build skills to enhance relationships; explore the dimensions of recovery; discover attitudes about self-disclosure and sharing your own story; understand the stages of recovery; describe the stages of change and their applications; increase awareness around often invisible biases, different cultures, power and privilege; address ethical and boundary issues; develop recovery wellness plans; and practice newly acquired skills. Be prepared to exchange meaningful experiences, identify personal biases, and graduate as a Recovery Coach. Requirements for becoming a Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW) for NH will be reviewed.
NOTE:
- Must attend all 4 days for certificate to be a Recovery Coach.
- Training awards 32 Continuing Education Units toward a CRSW.
- Lunch will be provided Oct 13,14, & 20 (for diet restrictions, please bring your lunch). Participants invited to bring a dish for the potluck on Oct 21.
