The immigration crisis is a significant concern for all of us, regardless of your political preference. A common question for many people is: “Why don’t migrants enter the United States the right way? My grandparents came here through proper means.” Many people are unsure or unaware of what is involved in coming to this country and beginning the path to citizenship. How can we remedy this enormous immigration problem? One thing we can do is to learn true and accurate information about the issue and the applicable laws.
Eva Castillo – Director, NH Alliance for Immigrants and Refugees and Welcoming NH will present an informative program that will clarify some of the questions about the immigration and citizenship process. The program will include: Roots of migration; Ways people migrate to the US; US response to immigration; The role of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement & Border Patrol in NH; NH Immigration stories. Eva served as Police Commissioner in Manchester for six years and sits on the board or steering committees of several NH organizations and Government Councils.
