On Monday, March 23, the NH Council of Churches hosted a Zoom call with Dr. Nicholas Christakis, the Sterling Professor of Social and Natural Science, Internal Medicine & Biomedical Engineering at Yale University.
About 22 people participated in the meeting. Dr. Christakis gave an overview of how COVID-19 differs from previous pandemics, what is “flattening the curve” and what practices can achieve that and more. He took questions from participants, focusing on how to maintain physical (social) distancing in church programs like soup kitchens and Twelve Step groups. He also addressed how best to measure risk in meeting with parishioners who are hospitalized due to COVID-19.
The Council wants to provide this seminar and the recording below because churches and clergy are trusted sources of information and also communities of compassionate action.
