Dear Church,
As many of you know, the Council of Churches has had a long standing policy statement on gun violence. Our faiths compel us in no uncertain terms that every individual is created in God’s image and has a right to live free of fear from gun violence, or gun deaths. We are commanded to beat our swords into plowshares.
In that vein, are so excited to share with you an upcoming joint effort to do exactly that. The Council has made a commitment to take tangible steps to bring forth a world free from gun violence. We are working in coalition to remove unwanted firearms from circulation in NH. Together, we are turning instruments of violence to instruments of art and nurture.
Please join us on June 10th in the parking lot of Wesley United Methodist Church in Concord from 10 AM-2 PM for our inaugural Guns to Gardens event. You can read more details below about our event, part of a national movement, below.
If you are interested in volunteering? Please be in touch: heidi@nhchurches.org.
If you are interested in supporting the work of ending gun violence? You can do so here: https://nhchurches.org/give/.
For a world where no mother ever has to worry about her child coming home safe from school, and peace truly reigns, we pray and act. Join us?
Blessings,
Rev. Heidi
